As the 17th President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ®, Rho Lambda Omega Chapter, located in the Sophisticated South Eastern Region, I am honored and privileged to welcome you to our chapter’s official website and virtual home. Rho Lambda Omega Chapter was chartered on October 23, 1988, with a vision to provide Service to all Mankind in Jackson, Mississippi, and surrounding communities.
Our current International President, Dr. Glenda Glover, outlined our call to action through “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service” for the 2018 – 2022 International Program. The program targets are; (1) HBCU for Life (2) Women’s Health and Wellness (3) Building Your Economic Legacy (4) The Arts! (5) Global Impact, and her signature program #CAP, an initiative to aid students in navigating the college admissions process. We are also committed to our special chapter programs that include our Adopted Assisted Living Facility (NCBA Estates) and Adopted Schools (Oak Forest Elementary and Brinkley Middle School).
Rho Lambda Omega membership consist of intelligent, phenomenal, and civic-minded women with diverse backgrounds, accomplishments, professions, talents, and interests. Our membership spans multiple generations, from recent college graduates to retirees. Together we work to address community needs with programs in education, health, family, and overall well-being of the communities we serve. Rho Lambda Omega also serves as the supervising chapter to Lambda Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® located on the campus of Millsaps College.
